Catch of the Day

My wife and I decided to get away for a couple of days so we drove down to Corpus Christi Texas. It's been a year since Alma has been to the coast and that's too long. If you don't know my wife, let me tell you something about her. She loves to camp, fish, and at times she will go hunting with me, so I guess you could say I'm a lucky guy. Too bad my luck at fishing wasn't that good this weekend. On sunday we fished the Packery Channel in CorpusChristi before we decided to head back to San Antonio. If you're wanting to see pictures of fish I caught, well don't hold your breath. All I caught were a few croakers, and some whitings and they were small. Oh yeah I did get a tan and slight sunburn. But I did take some pictures of fish that were caught all around me.

This first picture is of a young fisherman that goes by "D", and 10 minutes after he arrived with his parents I knew I was doing something wrong. Like I said, it was about 10 minutes after they arrived that he hooked into a nice speckled trout, and not to long afterward he caught the other one. Nice catch young man.

Before we left David and Gina, who were fishing towards the end of the jetty walked down with their catch which was impressive. Sheepshead were being caught by quite a few fisherman today besides sargassam.

Then there was Kerwin and Kaaren who also caught quite a few sheepshead to take home.
I think they also had a sandtrout. They also were headed back to San Antonio, and are probably digging into some fresh fish at this time.

Even though I didn't catch any fish at this outing, remember, a bad day of fishing is always better than a good day at work.

Now I've got to get home, unload my fishing gear and get ready to leave tomorrow morning to drive to Rocksprings Tx., to do some turkey hunting. On wednesday I'll upload some pictures and hopefully you'll see some turkey or hogs that my friend Emilio Perez and I have taken.
