The Fight is On

While on vacation Dad, Alma and I stopped at a bait stand named COS-WAY, which is right of south padre island drive (S.P.I.D). I usually stop there since it's one of the last stops to get bait as you cross the flats going to Pade Island. Their is also a pier at the COS-WAY that you can pay to fish on, and it's very close to a channel. As we drove into the parking lot we saw 6 or 7 fisherman on the pier. This picture is of someone named Steven holding a very nice Drum fish. We saw Steven's fishing rod getting some real nice hits on it and Steven set the hook and the fight was on. As we sat in my truck watching Steven fight this fish were wondering what he was going to bring up. It did take Steven a few minutes to bring it in and in that time we each had our own guesses as to what Steven would be bringing up. I said it might be a stingray since it never surfaced, or at least from where we were sitting we didn't see it surface. It looked like it was staying down deep. Dad thought it might be a Red Fish since it looked like it was haveing its way with Steven. The fish would go right then left then back to the right and then to the left, and this continued on for a while. Alma yelled out, I know what it is. IT'S A FISH, IT'S A FISH!! Wow, how did you figure that one out. Several minutes went by and someone on the pier assisted Steven by netting the fish for him, and that's when we saw it was a very nice Drum Fish. It measured 42 inches, and since it was over the limit, it was thrown back in.
